TLDR The clinic-based hair fall count method is accurate and reliable.
The study evaluated the new Clinic-based modified hair fall count in 60 seconds (CBMHFC 60-S) against the conventional home-based hair fall count in 60 seconds (HBHFC 60-S) in 75 women with diffuse alopecia. Results showed no statistically significant difference in average hair fall count between the two methods (P = 0.06), with CBMHFC 60-S showing a high accuracy and strong linear relationship with HBHFC 60-S (r = 0.434, P < 0.0001). The CBMHFC 60-S count was, on average, 2.38 hairs less than the HBHFC 60-S count. The study concluded that CBMHFC 60-S is a valid and precise method for estimating hair fall.
