This study investigated the impact of different growth media on the root hair development of Arabidopsis thaliana by using 18 different media combinations. The research highlighted the sensitivity of root hairs to environmental changes, which complicates phenotype comparisons. The study found that certain media combinations led to the formation of the longest root hairs, which grew to a final length of approximately 0.6 mm at a distance of about 4 mm from the root tip, maintaining a constant growth rate through tip growth.
