TLDR Ginseng extract can enhance hair growth at certain concentrations.
The study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of ginseng extract for promoting hair follicle growth in C_57BL/6J mice. Hair follicles in the anagen phase were cultured in Williams E medium with varying concentrations of ginseng extract and incubated at 37°C with 5% CO_2. Hair shaft length was measured every 24 hours, and after 24 hours of culture, 3H-TdR was added for DNA synthesis measurement. The results showed that ginseng extract promoted hair growth at concentrations ranging from 0.005 mg/ml to 0.1 mg/ml, with the most significant effect at 0.1 mg/ml. Therefore, the study concluded that ginseng extract can enhance hair growth.
