TLDR A combined surgical approach by different specialists can effectively treat large birthmarks on the scalp.
The document discusses a case of a patient with a frontoparietal giant melanocytic congenital nevus, a large birthmark that can be aesthetically challenging. The patient underwent a multidisciplinary surgical treatment involving a plastic surgeon and a hair restoration surgeon. The plastic surgeon performed a partial excision W-plasty to re-create a hairline, while the hair restoration surgeon conducted a preview long hair Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) to achieve optimal scalp-nevus coverage. This approach suggests that a combined effort between different specialists can yield the best results for managing such conditions.
