TLDR A 5-year-old boy grew too much hair after using minoxidil, but it went away after stopping the treatment.
A rare case of generalized hypertrichosis was reported in a 5-year-old boy following the use of 3% topical minoxidil for alopecia areata. Despite normal laboratory results, the boy developed excessive hair growth on his face, trunk, and arms after 2 months of treatment. Upon discontinuing the minoxidil, the excessive hair began to shed after 2 months, and nearly complete resolution was observed 6 months post-treatment.
