TLDR Secukinumab for psoriasis unexpectedly caused increased hair growth in a patient.
After 4 months of treatment with secukinumab for moderate psoriasis, a 67-year-old male patient experienced generalized hypertrichosis, which is an unusual increase in hair growth, while also achieving a 90% improvement in the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI 90). The patient reported no other drug use or application of creams that could account for this side effect. Despite the unexpected hair growth, the patient was not troubled by it and chose to continue the therapy, resulting in the persistence of both the hypertrichosis and the control of his psoriasis symptoms.
