TLDR The FUE technique is a popular, less invasive option for hair transplant with quicker recovery and fewer scars compared to other methods.
The article discusses the use of the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia, a condition that lacks a universally effective treatment. Many patients who do not see satisfactory results from medical treatments turn to alternative methods like hair transplantation. Hair transplantation has evolved significantly since the 1960s and is a popular cosmetic treatment, with over 11,000 procedures performed in the U.S. in 2014. The two main types of hair transplant procedures are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and FUE. The FUE technique is becoming more popular due to its non-invasive nature, faster recovery time, less post-operative discomfort, and fewer surgical scars compared to the FUT method.
