TLDR Stem cells can effectively regrow hair in women with hair loss.
This report discusses the treatment of Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) in two young women using autologous Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) and their Extracellular Vesicles (EVs). The treatment involved aspirating bone marrow, culturing MSCs, and injecting them into the scalp, along with applying a gel containing MSC-EVs. Within six months, both patients experienced significant hair regrowth without adverse effects. The study concludes that MSCs and MSC-derived EVs offer a promising treatment for FPHL, especially in cases unresponsive to conventional methods, potentially alleviating psychological distress in young women.
