TLDR The patient had a severe itchy rash and hair loss in the armpits.
A 42-year-old woman presented with severe pruritic rash and hair loss in the axillary regions, diagnosed as Fox-Fordyce disease (FF). Physical examination and dermoscopy revealed skin-colored papules, alopecia, and follicle-centered papules. Histology showed lymphocytic infiltration and obstruction of sweat glands. FF is a rare, chronic condition affecting apocrine gland areas, often triggered by trauma or hormonal factors, leading to gland obstruction and inflammation. Treatment with tretinoin (0.05%) resulted in moderate improvement. FF diagnosis is based on clinical and histopathological features, with various treatments showing limited success.
