TLDR A woman with Fox-Fordyce disease had symptom relief using tretinoin cream.
Fox-Fordyce disease, a chronic pruritic condition affecting areas with apocrine glands, was successfully managed in a 21-year-old woman using topical 0.1% tretinoin cream. The patient experienced a three-year history of intensely itchy papular eruptions in her pubic area and axillae, with symptoms worsening in warm conditions. She also observed decreased hair growth in the affected areas. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, showing mild acanthosis and a keratotic plug. The treatment with tretinoin cream led to successful control of the disease.
