Follicular Mucinosis in a Young Male: A Case Report and Literature Review

    Follicular mucinosis (FM), or alopecia mucinosa, is a rare condition characterized by the accumulation of mucin in hair follicles and sebaceous glands, leading to follicular degeneration and inflammation. It presents as erythematous papules, plaques, and localized alopecia. This case report discusses a 21-year-old male with a five-month history of a forehead lesion exhibiting typical FM features, and includes a literature review on the condition.
