Follicular Changes and Melanin Synthesis of C57BL/6 Mouse Model with Sasam Extract

The study investigated the effects of Adenophora Radix extract on hair growth and melanin synthesis using a C57BL/6 mouse model. The research aimed to assess the potential of Adenophora Radix as a cosmetic product for preventing hair loss. The study used 6-week-old male mice and tested different concentrations of Adenophora Radix extract (1% and 5%) against ethanol and PBS. Results showed that the group treated with 5% Adenophora Radix extract (AR-2) had the highest number of hair follicles and hair shafts. Melanin pigmentation was also observed, with significant differences noted by the 9th day, indicating that melanin synthesis correlated with the hair growth period.
