TLDR Created microspheres show potential for safe and effective use in prostate artery embolization.
The study developed finasteride/PHBV@polyvinyl alcohol/chitosan reservoir-type microspheres as a potential embolic agent for prostate artery embolization (PAE). The microspheres were found to have favorable hemocompatibility and were potentially safe for in vivo evaluation. In animal studies, the microspheres were effective in devascularization upon injection in the rabbit's ears, indicating their potential for use in PAE.
