TLDR Finasteride might cause rare blood clot in brain for baldness patients.
A 30-year-old man developed cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) during treatment with finasteride for male pattern baldness. He presented with vomiting, blurred vision, and severe headache, and was found to have thrombosis in multiple sinuses. Finasteride was considered a risk factor for CVT, and the man was treated with anticoagulation and showed improvement. This case report suggests that finasteride may be a rare drug to cause CVT in patients with alopecia.
