The Effect of Fermented Protein Intake on Human Scalp and Hair

    TLDR Eating fermented protein made from black bean powder twice a day for 60 days improved hair density but not scalp condition or hair thickness.
    This study investigated the effects of fermented protein intake on scalp and hair health in 12 healthy adults aged 20 to 60 years. Participants consumed a mixture of black bean powder and other ingredients twice daily for 60 days. Results showed a statistically significant increase in hair density (p<.01) and improvements in hair thickness, keratin mass, pore condition, and blood vessel exposure. However, no significant changes were observed in scalp condition, keratin mass, blood vessel exposure, hair thickness, and pore condition before and after the experiment.
