TLDR The cat's skin condition improved significantly with medication, with no relapse.
The document reported a case of Feline Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex in a 5-year-old female Persian cat, characterized by a neck wound, alopecia, and severe itching. The condition, affecting mainly young cats, can manifest as Eosinophilic Plaque, Linear Eosinophilic Granuloma, and Eosinophilic Ulcer, with its etiology not fully understood. Diagnosis was achieved through laboratory tests, culture, antibiogram, and biopsy. Treatment involved prednisone (2 mg/kg orally) and a topical application of betamethasone dipropionate with gentamicin sulfate, resulting in a significant positive response, eliminating itching and promoting fur regrowth, with no relapse reported.
