    Mollugin, a compound isolated from Rubiaceae species, was traditionally used in Chinese and Indian herbal medicine for various ailments such as arthritis and menstrual pain. It exhibited antitumor, antimutagenic, and antiviral activities, particularly against the hepatitis B virus. Additionally, mollugin showed strong inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation and cell adhesion, suggesting potential applications in cosmetics as a hair growth stimulant and anti-aging agent.
