TLDR Low doses of Asiasari radix extract boost stem cell growth without changing their shape.
The study evaluated the effects of low concentrations of Asiasari radix extract on human mesenchymal stem cells derived from periodontal tissue. Stem cells were exposed to A. radix at concentrations of 0.001 to 0.01 μg/mL. Results showed that the morphology of treated cells was similar to untreated controls, maintaining fibroblast-like shapes. However, cell proliferation increased, with CCK-8 assay values reaching 130.6% and 129.3% for 0.001 and 0.01 μg/mL concentrations, respectively, compared to the control at day 1. The study concluded that low doses of A. radix enhanced stem cell proliferation without affecting cell morphology.
