TLDR Traditional herbs in Amarasi District may help treat dandruff and hair loss.
The study in Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, explored the use of traditional herbs for treating dandruff and hair loss. Seventeen traditional healers identified 18 plants, including 8 single plants and 16 herbs, used for their anti-dandruff and anti-baldness properties. Plant parts such as leaves, fruit, seeds, sap, tubers, and roots are processed through methods like burning, splitting, frying, squeezing, and mashing, and applied by washing, smearing, or massaging the scalp 1-2 times a week. The findings suggest that these traditional plants have potential in treating scalp issues and promoting hair health.
