    Raghavendra L. S. Hallur, T. R. Prashith Kekuda
The review of Peperomia pellucida (L.) Kunth explored its traditional uses, phytochemical composition, and pharmacological activities. Traditionally used for conditions like asthma and hypertension, the plant contained alkaloids and flavonoids, and demonstrated antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer effects. It was also noted for its hair-growth promoting activity in rabbits. The plant's extracts showed promise in managing hyperglycemia, oxidative stress, and dyslipidemia in diabetic rats, and had enzyme inhibitory effects relevant to osteoporosis and gout. The review suggested that P. pellucida had significant potential for developing new therapeutic drugs.
