TLDR Higher estradiol levels slow cashmere goat hair follicle growth.
The study investigated the effects of estradiol on the growth and morphology of cashmere goat primary hair follicles in vitro. Hair follicles were cultured with varying concentrations of 17 β-E2 (0.1, 1.0, 10.0, 100.0 nmol/L). It was found that the growth rate at 0.1 nmol/L was similar to the control group, while higher concentrations (1.0, 10.0, and 100.0 nmol/L) inhibited hair follicle growth to varying degrees. Additionally, different concentrations led to distinct morphological changes in the hair follicles. This research provided a preliminary foundation for understanding how estradiol regulates the growth of cashmere goat hair follicles.
