TLDR The dog's skin condition improved quickly with treatment and did not return.
This case study focuses on a 10-month-old beagle with eosinophilic dermatitis, characterized by intense itching, hair loss, and redness, but without peripheral eosinophilia or visible pustules. The dog initially did not respond well to oclacitinib but showed significant improvement with prednisolone, with no recurrence over 18 months. Histopathology indicated sterile eosinophilic pustulosis, although the clinical presentation differed, suggesting a variation within eosinophilic dermatitis. The study underscores the diagnostic challenges and varied manifestations of eosinophilic dermatitis, highlighting the need for further research.
