TLDR Minoxidil can improve hair growth in some patients with woolly hair due to LIPH variants, with varying responses and mild side effects.
This case series described the appearance of enanthem (oral cavity lesions) in 21 patients with COVID-19 and skin rash, confirmed by real-time reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction. Enanthem was observed in 6 patients (29%), with lesions classified as macular, petechial, or macular with petechiae, all located in the palate. The study found that enanthem, particularly with a petechial pattern, strongly suggested a viral etiology rather than a drug reaction. The latency between COVID-19 symptoms and mucocutaneous lesions averaged 12.3 days. The study was limited by the small sample size and lack of a control group.
