TLDR Topical minoxidil 5% effectively improves hair density and width in men with androgenetic alopecia.
The study evaluated the efficacy of topical minoxidil 5% in treating male androgenetic alopecia in 15 male patients aged 23-31 over 24 weeks. Results showed a 60% improvement in patients, with significant increases in hair density (31.7%) and width (42.56%). There was also a decrease in miniaturized hair follicles and perifollicular inflammatory infiltrate. Despite the clinical grading not showing a statistically significant difference, the treatment effectively improved hair density and width.
