TLDR Tip cryotherapy effectively treats idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis with minimal side effects.
The study evaluated the efficacy of tip cryotherapy in treating idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH) by comparing 43 treated lesions with 58 control lesions. Over 4 months, treated lesions showed a significant decrease in luminosity compared to controls, with 82.3% of treated lesions showing more than 75% improvement versus only 2% of control lesions (p < .001). The most common side effect was a burning sensation. The results indicated that tip cryotherapy was an effective treatment for IGH with minimal adverse effects.
