TLDR Combining PRP with LLLT is most effective for hair growth in androgenetic alopecia.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of low-level light therapy (LLLT) alone and in combination with plasma rich growth factors (PRGFs) or Minoxidil in managing androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 45 patients. The patients were divided into three groups: LLLT with PRP, LLLT with Minoxidil, and LLLT alone, and treated for 3 months with a follow-up after 3 months. Results showed that the combination of PRP with LLLT led to the most significant improvement in hair growth, as evidenced by global photography, folliscopic analysis, and patient satisfaction, compared to the other treatments. Thus, PRP combined with LLLT was concluded to be more effective than LLLT with Minoxidil or LLLT alone for AGA management.
