TLDR The treatment increased total hair count but wasn't significantly better than placebo.
This 16-week, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of a new topical solution containing cytopurine and pentadecanoic glyceride in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 74 men and 21 women. The study found that the treatment significantly improved total hair count and reduced daily shed hair count compared to baseline. However, there were no statistically significant differences between the treatment and placebo groups in anagen hair count, mean hair diameter, subjective assessments of clinical improvement, or side effects. The study confirmed the efficacy of the topical solution through objective assessment with phototrichogram.
