TLDR The serum increased hair density and was well-tolerated, but didn't affect hair thickness or shedding.
The study assessed the efficacy and safety of SERUM THICKER, a botanical topical serum, on 24 subjects with mild to moderate androgenetic alopecia over 6 months. The serum, containing 97% botanical ingredients and 5% Capixyl®, was applied either daily or twice a week. Results indicated a significant increase in hair density, with an 11.7% increase for daily application and 9% for less frequent use, translating to an estimated gain of 7000 hairs for daily users and 5000 hairs for those using it twice a week. Despite the increase in hair density, there was a significant decrease in average terminal hair thickness, and no significant differences were observed in hair shedding or new hair growth between the application frequencies. The serum was well-tolerated, reducing symptoms like dandruff and itching, and self-assessment questionnaires showed higher positive responses, particularly in the daily application group, suggesting perceived improvements in hair appearance and growth.
