TLDR Yoga, specifically Malasana, can help reduce anxiety and depression in women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
The study titled "Protocol on Effects of Yoga on Anxiety and Depression among Women with Polycystic Ovarian Disease" aims to assess the effectiveness of yoga, specifically Malasana, on the levels of anxiety and depression in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a common endocrine condition that can cause symptoms such as amenorrhea, hirsutism, infertility, obesity, acne vulgaris, and androgenic alopecia. The study uses an experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design with 30 women who meet the inclusion criteria. The researchers developed a modified anxiety rating scale and a modified depression scale to measure the impact of yoga on these conditions. The results of the study are expected to provide insights into the effectiveness of Malasana on anxiety and depression in women with PCOS.
