TLDR Finasteride didn't significantly improve ICPPS symptoms, more research needed.
A pilot study investigated the effects of finasteride on patients with inflammatory chronic pelvic pain syndrome (ICPPS). The study involved a small sample size of patients who were randomly assigned to either a placebo or finasteride group for 12 months. The results showed that finasteride did not significantly improve symptoms of ICPPS compared to the placebo group. However, some studies suggest that finasteride may have anti-inflammatory effects and reduce symptoms by reducing the volume of glandular elements in the prostate and the area of prostatic inflammation. Further research is needed to confirm the effectiveness of finasteride in treating ICPPS.

Hair loss treatments discussed include Minoxidil, Finasteride, RU58841, and Nizoral shampoo. Nizoral's effectiveness is debated, with some suggesting it works as a weak antagonist for androgen receptors, while others attribute its benefits to anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
