TLDR Combining physical dermabrasion with chemical peeling is more effective for skin treatment than chemical peeling alone.
The study investigated the effects of combining physical dermabrasion with chemical peeling on porcine skin, using three pigs as subjects. The treated skin showed significant detachment and swelling of the stratum corneum, and fluid accumulation in hair follicles. There was a notable increase in CD34 positive fibroblasts and mast cells, as well as elevated levels of growth factors such as epidermal growth factor, fibroblast growth factor-2, vascular endothelial growth factor, and the neuropeptide neurotensin, compared to the control group that received only chemical peeling. The results suggest that the combined treatment is more effective than chemical peeling alone, particularly in delivering substances through hair follicles.
