TLDR Black bean, wheat, and rice bran extracts can improve hair growth and quality.
The study investigated the effects of ethanol extracts from black bean (Glycine max Merr.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), and rice bran (Oryza sativa L.) on hair growth and physical properties. The extracts were tested on dermal papilla cells and mouse mesenchymal stem cells, and incorporated into shampoo formulations. Results showed that hair treated with the extract-containing shampoo had improved tensile strength, shine (10.9% increase), and color appearance (24.12% increase) compared to the control. Black bean extract was particularly effective in promoting dermal papilla cell proliferation. The study concluded that these natural extracts could stimulate hair growth and improve the physical properties of aged hair, suggesting their potential use in hair care products.
