TLDR Triamcinolone acetonide helps scalp grafts grow hair successfully.
In a study published in 1971, researchers investigated the effect of triamcinolone acetonide on scalp homograft tolerance in 15 patients. They injected 1 mg of the synthetic steroid into alopecic sites prepared for grafting and then implanted homografts from hair-bearing donor sites. A maintenance dose of 1 mg per site per month was administered. The study found that hair growth was maintained at the usual rate, suggesting that triamcinolone acetonide could help in sustaining hair growth in transplanted scalp homografts.
