TLDR Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds and Butea monosperma flowers help promote hair growth and reduce hair loss after chemotherapy.
The study investigated the hair growth-promoting effects of Trigonella foenum-graecum (seeds) and Butea monosperma (flowers) in a chemotherapy-induced alopecia model. Herbal hair ointment formulations were prepared and evaluated for their effects on hair growth, serum protein levels, and testosterone levels. The results showed a significant increase in hair length and count compared to the control group, with the polyherbal formulation reducing dihydro-testosterone (DHT) levels. Trigonella foenum-graecum was rich in protein, aiding hair growth, while Butea monosperma contained flavonoids with antioxidant properties that prevented hair fall. The findings supported the traditional use of these plants for promoting hair growth.
