Study of the Effect of Myoinositol on Menstrual Irregularities and Skin Problems in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Cases

    The study from 2017 examined the impact of myoinositol on women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), focusing on menstrual irregularities and skin issues. Participants were given 2 grams of myoinositol daily for three months. Before treatment, 94.67% had abnormal menstrual cycles, but after treatment, 74.65% reported improvements, with 77.4% of those with oligomenorrhea achieving regular menses. Skin improvements were noted in 34.4% for oily skin and 33.3% for acne, although there was no significant change in hirsutism. The study concluded that myoinositol effectively improves menstrual irregularities and some skin problems in PCOS.
