TLDR Minoxidil helps stimulate hair growth and reduce hair loss in women with androgenic alopecia.
The study conducted 21 years ago aimed to examine the effect of minoxidil on hair growth in women with androgenic alopecia. The study involved 17 women aged between 41-50 years who applied minoxidil topically twice a day for 6-12 months. The results showed that the use of a 2% minoxidil solution led to the normalization of hair root condition and a decrease in hair loss in some of the participants. The study concluded that minoxidil has a stimulating influence on hair growth and should be used as an adjuvant therapy in women with androgenic alopecia.
