TLDR Adding 7% chamomile extract to minoxidil reduces skin side effects in treating male hair loss.
In a double-blind randomized clinical trial involving 100 males with Male Androgenic Alopecia (MAA), the study investigated the effects of adding 7% chamomile extract to 5% minoxidil solution on cutaneous side effects. Over 6 months, the group treated with both chamomile extract and minoxidil experienced a greater reduction in itching, scaling, and erythema compared to the control group treated with minoxidil alone. The findings suggested that chamomile extract could mitigate the side effects of minoxidil, potentially improving patient compliance and the overall effectiveness of MAA treatment.
