TLDR 150 kHz electromagnetic radiation might help improve PCOS in rats.
The study with 21 female Sprague Dawley rats aimed to assess the impact of 150 kHz electromagnetic radiation (EMR) on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) induced by estradiol valerate (EV). The rats were divided into three groups: control, EV, and EV + EMR, with the latter exposed to EMR for eight weeks. The findings indicated that EMR exposure led to improved ovarian morphology, an increase in developing follicles, and a significant reduction in the number and size of follicular cysts, without significant changes in body and ovary weights or testosterone and FSH levels. However, there was a significant decrease in LH and LH/FSH ratio in the EV + EMR group compared to the EV group. The study suggests that 150 kHz EMR might have a therapeutic effect on PCOS, but calls for more research to fully understand its impact on the condition.
