TLDR Eclipta alba extracts in shampoo can help hair growth and fight dandruff.
The study investigated the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of aqueous and ethanolic extracts from the leaves of Eclipta alba, commonly known as Bhringraj, and formulated a shampoo incorporating these extracts. The shampoo had a pH of 6.8 and 7.42 for water and ethanolic extracts, respectively, and was clear, foamy, and odorless. The extracts demonstrated significant antioxidant activity and were effective against clinical pathogens, including the dandruff-causing fungus Malassezia. The study concluded that Eclipta alba extracts could be beneficial in shampoos for promoting hair growth and serving as an antidandruff agent.
