TLDR Early diagnosis and quick treatment improve life quality for FFA patients.
The article discussed the importance of early diagnosis and treatment in improving the quality of life for patients with frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA). It highlighted that FFA is a progressive scarring alopecia affecting the frontal and temporal scalp, often leading to eyebrow loss. The case reports demonstrated that intralesional steroid treatment in the early inflammatory stage of FFA could result in significant hair regrowth, as seen in a 47-year-old postmenopausal woman who showed marked improvement after 12 weeks of treatment. Conversely, a 57-year-old woman with late-stage FFA experienced symptom regression but no hair regrowth. The findings suggested that early intervention with intralesional steroids might prevent the progression of FFA and promote hair regrowth.
