TLDR Dupilumab can cause rare side effects like a rash on the face and neck.
This case report described a 28-year-old female with atopic dermatitis who developed a recurrent facial and neck rash after each dupilumab injection, a side effect not previously documented in the literature. Despite the known benefits of dupilumab in treating moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, this new adverse effect highlights the need for further investigation. The patient experienced redness and warmth in the affected areas, which resolved spontaneously after 2 days. The cause of this reaction remains unclear, but potential etiologies include new contact dermatitis, a reaction to commensal organisms, or an autoimmune condition. This report aims to raise awareness among clinicians about this possible side effect.
