TLDR Linagliptin slows down premature aging in certain mice.
The study concluded that DPP-4 inhibition with linagliptin ameliorated the progression of premature aging in klotho−/− mice. Linagliptin treatment improved body weight, muscle weight, cognitive function, cerebral blood flow, and reduced alopecia incidence. The survival rate was higher in the linagliptin group, though not statistically significant. These benefits were specific to klotho−/− mice and not observed in wild-type mice, suggesting potential therapeutic applications for aging-related conditions independent of glucose-lowering effects.
