TLDR Combining doxazosin and finasteride is more effective for managing benign prostatic hyperplasia than using either drug alone.
The study examined the long-term effects of doxazosin, finasteride, and their combination on the clinical progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It concluded that the combination therapy of doxazosin and finasteride was more effective in reducing the risk of overall clinical progression of BPH compared to either drug alone. The combination therapy significantly improved urinary symptoms and reduced the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for invasive therapy. This research provided evidence supporting the use of combination therapy for better management of BPH.
