TLDR Younger men with hair loss have a worse quality of life.
The study assessed the quality of life in 102 Thai male patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). The average age of participants was 36.5 years, with the onset of AGA typically occurring around 27 years. The most common pattern of baldness was Type III vertex. A significant finding was that younger patients (30 years and below) had higher DLQI scores, indicating a greater negative impact on their quality of life compared to older patients. Additionally, 83.3% of participants had a family history of AGA, predominantly from their fathers. The study concluded that younger male AGA patients experienced more adverse effects on their quality of life.
