TLDR Eating nuts, chocolate candy, and red tea might worsen acne, while eating more fresh vegetables could reduce it.
In a study of 100 acne patients, researchers discovered that the severity of acne was significantly correlated with the consumption of nuts, chocolate candy, and red tea, with these foods potentially worsening acne. Conversely, a higher intake of fresh vegetables was associated with less severe acne. No significant correlation was found between acne severity and the consumption of milk, dairy products, or other food items like pickles, fats, oils, cooked vegetables, fresh fruits, or various carbohydrates. Additionally, there was no significant relationship between acne severity and the patients' weight or lipid profiles. These findings challenge the belief that dairy products contribute to acne severity and suggest that dietary modifications could help manage acne in some patients.
