TLDR A dietary vitamin A level of 10,000 IU/kg is best for growing Rex rabbits.
The study investigated the effects of varying dietary vitamin A levels on 200 growing Rex rabbits, focusing on growth performance, fur quality, vitamin A deposition, serum biochemical indices, and antioxidant function. Results indicated that dietary vitamin A significantly affected feed efficiency, fur weight, and fur area, but not average daily feed intake or gain. Higher vitamin A levels increased serum and liver vitamin A content and improved antioxidant activity, notably affecting glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activities. However, it did not significantly impact hair follicle density or total antioxidation capacity in the liver. The study concluded that a dietary vitamin A level of 10,000 IU/kg was optimal for growing Rex rabbits.
