The study from 5 years ago aimed to develop new dermatological remedies for the prevention and treatment of androgenic alopecia (AA) and telogen effluvium (TA), two common types of hair loss. The researchers selected soft dosage forms with Saw Palmetto fruits extract and Sophora japonica tincture, an oil extract from nettle rhizomes and roots for AA treatment, and a gel-mask with nettle juice, a complex tincture of nettle leaves, sage leaves and horse chestnut leaves for TA treatment. The study emphasized the importance of considering pharmaceutical factors for the stability, efficiency, and safety of the developed drugs. The researchers concluded that they had created an algorithm for developing dermato-cosmetic remedies with natural raw material, which could be the preferred medicines for preventing and treating AA and TA in the future.
