TLDR Eruca sativa oil, Aloe vera oil, and sodium carbonate may help improve cholesterol and tumor markers in breast cancer treatment.
The study investigated the effects of Eruca sativa oil, sodium carbonate, lavender oil, and Aloe vera oil on lipid profiles and breast tumor markers in doxorubicin-treated female albino rats. The experiment involved 6 groups of 5 rats each, with cancer induced in all but the negative control group. Results showed that Eruca sativa oil and Aloe vera oil reduced cholesterol and triglycerides, while all three oils increased HDL and decreased LDL levels. Sodium carbonate was effective in reducing alpha-fetoprotein and Ca15-3 tumor markers. The study concluded that these substances, particularly at low doses, could be beneficial as adjuncts in chemotherapy for breast cancer due to their positive effects on tumor markers and lipid profiles.
