TLDR COVID-19 can cause various skin issues, including rashes and lesions.
The prevalence of dermatological manifestations in COVID-19 patients varies widely from 0.2% to 20.4% across different countries, with common symptoms including maculopapular eruptions, urticarial lesions, pseudo-chilblains, vesicular eruptions, and livedo or necrosis. Additional manifestations such as enanthems, purpuric flexural lesions, Dengue-like rash, erythema multiforme-like lesions, and vasculitis-like lesions have also been reported. A study at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka found a 1.7% prevalence, and a survey among dermatologists across the island noted various cutaneous manifestations. Vigilance is crucial as the virus and our understanding of it continue to evolve.
