    Mahboobeh Shokrizadeh, Fatemeh Sadat Sajadi
TLDR Acrodermatitis enteropathica can be linked to dental issues, so thorough dental exams are important.
Acrodermatitis enteropathica (AE) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by dermatitis, alopecia, and diarrhea, often linked to zinc absorption issues. This report detailed the dental treatment of two brothers, aged 6 and 8, with hereditary AE. Despite normal serum zinc levels, they exhibited skin and hair symptoms. Dental interventions included fissure sealant application and tooth extraction. The study highlighted that AE could be associated with dental anomalies and oral infections, emphasizing the importance of clinical and radiographical examinations for diagnosis, even when serum zinc levels appear normal.
